1. Technology overview
KAMINASHI Inc. is a Tokyo startup established in December 2016 that digitises frontline work in factories, food plants, hotels and logistics sites. It replaces paper checklists, daily production reports and manuals with tablet apps that non-desk workers, including foreign and part-time staff, can use without IT skills. The KAMINASHI series is used at more than 17,000 sites across all 47 prefectures of Japan, from SMEs to listed companies.
The platform is a set of no-code SaaS modules on AWS: KAMINASHI Report for digital forms, inspections, deviation alerts and lot traceability; Production Records for output, defect and stoppage entry with automatic availability and cycle-time dashboards; Maintenance for equipment records and spare parts; Training for AI-generated video manuals; and Employee for chat and payslips in 18 languages with AI translation. Users include Seven-Eleven Japan, Toshiba Fuchu Works and Kirin Group Logistics.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Digital forms: no-code checklists with photos, voice notes, deviation alerts and bulk approval.
- Traceability: search past records instantly by product name or lot number for audits.
- Production records: operators enter output, defects and stops; availability and cycle time are charted automatically.
- Equipment maintenance: equipment records, inspection history and spare parts in one place.
- Training: AI creates manuals from voice or text and manages courses and tests.
- Multilingual: AI translation of forms, manuals and chat into 18 languages including Vietnamese.
3. Potential application
A Vietnamese food processor exporting to Japan can digitise HACCP checks and lot records for customer audits. A Japanese-invested parts supplier can collect daily output and stoppage data on tablets instead of paper reports. A garment or electronics plant can train new workers with translated video manuals.
4. Benefits
The company reports, based on its own customer results, a 98% reduction in on-site work errors, about 96% less supervisor checking time and zero lost paper records after moving to KAMINASHI Report. In an auto-parts plant, Production Records removed 5 hours a day of manual report collection and Excel entry. Forms and manuals can be auto-translated into Vietnamese, Indonesian, Tagalog and other languages for foreign workers.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Factories in Japan and Southeast Asia rely more on foreign and part-time workers, while customers demand HACCP, ISO and FSSC records. Simple tablet tools that replace paper, work in workers' native languages and give managers real-time production data are an affordable first step to a smart factory for small and mid-sized plants.
6. Other information
KAMINASHI Inc. (capital 100 million yen) is headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, and is backed by investors including Coral Capital and Incubate Fund. It acquired and merged StatHack in 2024, launched Maintenance in 2025 and Production Records in October 2026, and signed its first distributor agreement with SB C&S in October 2026. It holds ISMS (ISO 27001) certification.
