1. Technology overview
Ksher started in Thailand in 2016 by helping local merchants accept payments from international travellers, and has grown into a Southeast Asia-focused cross-border payment provider. It reports more than 200,000 active merchants, over 10 billion USD in cumulative transaction value, connections to more than 60 banks and payment service providers, and licences in 13 markets, including Thailand, the Philippines, Hong Kong and Malaysia.
The Ksher Global Account gives businesses one account for local payment acceptance, marketplace collections, cross-border trade payments and multi-currency fund flows. Sellers can collect e-commerce and import-trade proceeds locally, pay logistics, payroll and procurement costs worldwide, exchange currencies and move funds between markets. Solutions target Southeast Asian import trade, global export trade, regional e-commerce and in-store acquiring, backed by automated risk monitoring with more than 200 indicators.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Local payment acceptance: Accepts payments in store, online or remotely through local methods.
- Marketplace collections: Gathers proceeds from e-commerce platforms into one account.
- Cross-border trade payments: Pays suppliers, logistics and payroll worldwide from a local account.
- Multi-currency FX: Converts and holds funds in several currencies.
- Fund allocation: Moves operating funds across markets and accounts.
- Risk control: Monitors transactions automatically with network-level analysis of over 200 indicators.
3. Potential application
A Vietnamese exporter selling to Thailand or Malaysia can collect local-currency proceeds and convert them in one account. A Vietnamese seller on regional marketplaces can consolidate platform payouts and pay overseas suppliers. A bank such as MSB can use the Ksher network to support corporate clients with cross-border trade settlement.
4. Benefits
Exporters and cross-border sellers can collect, convert and pay out through one account instead of separate banks in each market. Locally registered accounts keep the operating entity, account name and statements consistent, which supports tax and business documentation. A network of more than 60 banks and payment providers and coverage of over 190 countries and regions reduces the number of partners a regional business must manage.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Cross-border e-commerce and trade between China and Southeast Asia keep growing, and sellers increasingly need local accounts and licensed collection partners in each market. In Vietnam, banks are partnering with regional payment firms to improve cross-border settlement, foreign exchange and compliance for trade flows.
6. Other information
Started in Thailand in 2016 with an exclusive partnership with King Power. Holds payment licences across 13 markets, including Bank of Thailand foreign exchange and payment service licences, BSP registration in the Philippines, a Hong Kong money service operator licence and a Malaysian merchant acquirer listing. Partnered with MSB in Vietnam in January 2026.
