1. Technology overview
Magenta Mobility, operated by Magenta EV Solutions Pvt. Ltd. in India, is an integrated electric mobility company that began in 2018 as a charge point operator and charger maker and launched all-electric logistics in 2021. It helps shippers decarbonise urban goods movement without buying and managing electric vehicles themselves.
As fleet owner and operator, Magenta provides last- and mid-mile delivery under monthly B2B contracts, with electric vehicles from 0.5 to 12.5 tonnes, more than 1,500 chargers and over 100 charging depots across 22+ cities. Its Infomatics arm supplies an AI and IoT platform covering fleet tracking with geofencing, remote immobilisation and battery charge monitoring, driver performance management, charging management and operations analytics that integrate with order management systems, while ChargeGrid offers EV chargers. Clients include e-commerce, grocery, FMCG and pharma companies such as Amazon, Flipkart, Delhivery, D-Mart and StarQuik.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- EV fleet services: last- and mid-mile delivery with 0.5 to 12.5 tonne electric vehicles under monthly contracts.
- Charging network: more than 1,500 chargers and over 100 depots across 22+ cities.
- Fleet management: live tracking, geofencing, overspeed alerts, remote immobilisation and battery monitoring.
- Driver management: dashboards for driver performance, safety compliance and productivity.
- Charging management: nearby and en-route charger search, maintenance filtering and energy optimisation.
- Operations analytics: shipment tracking and integration with existing order management systems.
3. Potential application
E-commerce platforms and retail chains in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City can outsource intra-city deliveries to an electric fleet operator under monthly contracts. FMCG and pharma distributors can use the model to cut fuel costs and report lower emissions. Logistics companies can license fleet, driver and charging management software for their own EV fleets.
4. Benefits
Shippers electrify delivery fleets without capital spending on vehicles, chargers or depots, paying through monthly service contracts. The network handles more than 30,000 deliveries a day and has covered over 30 million zero-emission kilometres, avoiding 907 tonnes of CO2 according to the company. Infomatics gives real-time visibility of vehicles, drivers, battery levels and shipments for planning and reporting.
5. Market trends & opportunities
E-commerce and retail companies have set targets for electric last-mile fleets, but many prefer to buy electric delivery as a service rather than manage vehicles, charging and drivers. In Vietnam, fast-growing e-commerce volumes and urban emission rules are creating similar demand for outsourced electric logistics.
