1. Technology overview
OhStem Education Co., Ltd is a Vietnamese STEM education technology company based in Hiep Binh ward, Ho Chi Minh City. It develops its own programmable hardware, software and curricula so that Vietnamese schools can teach electronics, coding, IoT, AI and robotics at a lower cost than imported robot kits, and it organises the Robocon ORC (Open Robotics Challenge) competitions.
The hardware range includes the Yolo:Bit learning computer and the Arduino-compatible Yolo UNO board, the xController and xBot, thematic kits such as Home:Bit, Plant:Bit, City:Bit and an AIoT Kit, Rover and ORC K2 robot kits, a robot arm and the Camera AI V2, which supports model training and on-camera recognition with results sent over UART. Students program the boards through the OhStem App with blocks, MicroPython or the Arduino IDE, and lessons cover sending data to IoT dashboards. Schools receive textbooks, documentation, teacher training and deployment roadmaps for STEM Robotics programmes from primary to secondary level.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Programmable boards: Yolo:Bit learning computer and Arduino-compatible Yolo UNO.
- Thematic kits: Home:Bit, Plant:Bit, City:Bit, Phys:Bit, STEM Starter and AIoT kits.
- Robotics: Rover, ORC K2, xBot and robot arm kits with competition arenas.
- Camera AI V2: on-device model training and recognition, sending results over UART.
- OhStem App: block-based coding plus MicroPython and Arduino IDE support.
- School programme: textbooks, teacher training and STEM Robotics deployment roadmaps.
3. Potential application
Primary and lower secondary schools can set up STEM Robotics clubs with Rover kits and enter Robocon ORC. High schools and vocational colleges can teach IoT and AI vision with Yolo:Bit, AIoT kits and Camera AI V2. Education departments can pilot standard STEM labs across districts using one Vietnamese platform.
4. Benefits
Schools can launch STEM Robotics programmes with locally made kits; the company's reference estimates put a pilot club at 6-10 million VND and a 20-30 student class at 20-35 million VND. One platform covers coding, electronics, IoT and AI, so equipment can be reused across grades. Vietnamese documentation, curricula, teacher training and local warranty reduce the burden on teachers. Competitions give students a practical goal for their projects.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Vietnam is expanding STEM education in general schools and has set goals to train a large semiconductor and electronics workforce, which creates demand for affordable, Vietnamese-language electronics and AI learning platforms. Edge AI cameras and IoT are moving into school curricula, and locally designed kits compete on price and support with imported products.
6. Other information
OhStem Education is headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City; CEO Ha Van Minh, with HCMUT lecturer Thai Ba Ngoc as project development advisor. In 2026 it joined the AI Cameras for STEM & Robotics Education project with ACLAB - HCMUT, YooTek and the University of Technology Sydney under a 15,000 USD Australia-Vietnam Strategic Technologies Seed Grant.
One platform connecting startups, corporations, research institutions, regions and investors
