1. Technology overview
OnSite is a Singapore-based startup building a team-chat platform for construction and facilities management teams. It targets the habit of running site communication through WhatsApp groups and paper records, where instructions, photos and voice notes are hard to search or turn into accountable tasks. In April 2026 it announced a S$1.7 million seed round.
The product syncs with WhatsApp so field workers do not need to install a new app, then uses AI to turn messages, photos and voice notes into tasks, reports and a searchable project record. Each project keeps its chats, files and tasks together. Reported customers are small and medium contractors in Singapore and Hong Kong.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- WhatsApp sync: Connected WhatsApp messages appear in OnSite and replies sync back to WhatsApp users.
- Task creation: Actions, owners and deadlines are identified from chat or voice notes.
- Auto reports: Weekly progress or maintenance reports are drafted from updates, photos and completed work.
- Searchable answers: AI answers link back to source messages, files, forms or records.
- Forms and checklists: Checklists are filled from updates and photos with review and sign-off.
- Files and access: Drawings, documents and 3D models can be viewed with role-based access control.
3. Potential application
A general contractor in Vietnam could capture site instructions and photos from subcontractor WhatsApp groups into one project record. A building management team could log maintenance requests and generate weekly reports. A fit-out contractor could fill inspection checklists from site photos.
4. Benefits
Field teams keep using WhatsApp while managers get structured records. Tasks, owners and deadlines are extracted from chat, weekly progress or maintenance reports are drafted automatically, and AI answers link back to the source message. Automatic translation and transcription help mixed-language crews.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Construction remains a labour-intensive sector where much site coordination still runs through consumer chat apps. Vietnamese and Southeast Asian contractors with multilingual crews and many subcontractors face the same record-keeping gap, which makes AI layers on top of existing chat habits a practical entry point.
6. Other information
