Openlayer, the trading name of Unbox Inc. (Delaware), was founded in 2021 by former Apple engineers who built models for Siri and Vision Pro: CEO Gabriel Bayomi, CPO Vikas Nair and CTO Rishab Ramanathan. Backed by Y Combinator and Race Capital, it set out to give every AI team a shared system to test, monitor and govern models instead of rebuilding that infrastructure each time.

The platform covers seven layers. Discovery builds an organization-wide AI inventory and detects shadow AI; Registration keeps a central registry with intake forms, versioning and risk tiers; Testing offers more than 175 ready-made evals, regression and CI/CD tests and root cause analysis; Observability traces prompts, responses and tool calls with continuous online evaluation; Security and Guardrails redact PII and defend against prompt injection and jailbreaks; Compliance maps controls to the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF and ISO 42001; and Cost Controls cap token spend. A gateway enforces policy in real time. Logos include eBay, Sun Life, Telefonica, KPN and Amdocs.
