1. Technology overview
PerPlant is a Danish agtech company with its address in Copenhagen, building AI camera systems that mount on tractors. It addresses herbicide and fertiliser over-use by treating field variation instead of whole fields.
The camera installs in about 30 minutes on any tractor, detects weeds and other field anomalies while driving, and adjusts inputs in real time. It supports spot spraying, plant-by-plant variable-rate fertiliser and growth regulator, and monitoring of biomass, disease pressure and lodging risk. Customers are contractors and farmers in about 12 European countries.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Real-time spot spraying: Targets weeds only while the tractor drives.
- Variable-rate application: Fertiliser and growth regulator are applied plant by plant.
- Anomaly detection: Water spots, soil patches, low-biomass zones and stones are detected automatically.
- Crop monitoring: Weed detection, biomass, disease pressure and lodging risk.
- Easy installation: About 30 minutes with no specialist needed.
3. Potential application
Farm service contractors in Vietnam can test spot spraying on corn or sugarcane fields. Large cooperatives can use biomass maps for variable-rate fertiliser. Agricultural machinery dealers can evaluate the camera as an add-on.
4. Benefits
The company claims an average input reduction of about 50%, and press coverage cites up to 90% less herbicide for a typical farm (company claims). Installation needs no specialist and works with existing ISOBUS equipment. A 30-minute demo is available through local dealers.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Rising herbicide and fertiliser costs and tighter chemical regulation drive interest in camera-based input reduction. Large Vietnamese rice, corn and sugarcane operations and contractors face similar input-cost pressure and could assess tractor-mounted vision as a retrofit.
6. Other information
Raised EUR 1 million (about DKK 7.6 million) in May 2026 from private investors; earlier backers include Antler and The Footprint Firm. Reports 200,000 hectares mapped across Europe, 15 employees and operations in 12 countries.
