1. Technology overview
Wellysis is a Korean wearable ECG company spun off from Samsung SDS and founded in Seoul in 2019. It addresses the fact that arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation occur intermittently and are often missed by short tests, while bulky Holter monitors are uncomfortable for multi-day recording.
The S-Patch is an 8 g single-lead ECG patch powered by the Samsung Smart Health Processor, worn for 1 to 3 days (S-Patch Ex) or 3 to 11 days (S-Patch ExL). It streams to a mobile app on phones, tablets or watches, stores data on board when the connection drops, and uploads to the S-Patch Web reading platform, which produces PDF ECG reports. CardioAI adds AI arrhythmia analysis that third-party platforms can embed. Customers include diagnostic testing facilities, clinical research organisations and hospitals.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Lightweight patch: 8 g single-lead ECG patch placed at Lead II with clear P-wave capture.
- Two test durations: up to 100 hours with S-Patch Ex and up to 264 hours with S-Patch ExL.
- Multi-device app: live ECG viewing on smartphone, tablet or smartwatch.
- On-board memory: data keeps recording when the mobile connection is interrupted.
- S-Patch Web: cloud reading platform that generates readable PDF ECG reports.
- CardioAI: FDA-cleared AI arrhythmia analysis that can be embedded in third-party platforms.
3. Potential application
Cardiology departments of Vietnamese hospitals could use S-Patch for 3 to 11 day arrhythmia screening after stroke or palpitations. Health check-up centres could offer patch ECG packages for executives. Clinical research organisations running trials in Vietnam could use the patch and CardioAI for cardiac safety monitoring.
4. Benefits
Replaces multi-day Holter testing with a patch as light as two sheets of paper, improving patient tolerance and arrhythmia detection over longer recordings. Reusable hardware with swappable electrodes and coin battery lets clinics start the next test immediately without charging. FDA-cleared AI analysis automates ECG review so cardiologists and technicians spend less time on manual reading. The company reports US revenue more than quadrupled from 2024 to 2025.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death worldwide and atrial fibrillation raises stroke risk fivefold, pushing health systems toward longer, patch-based ambulatory ECG instead of 24-hour Holter. Hospitals in Southeast Asia face a shortage of cardiologists to read long recordings, which favours AI-assisted analysis.
6. Other information
Spun off from Samsung SDS in April 2019 and founded in May 2019 with investment from Samsung Venture Investment. Headquartered in Gangnam, Seoul, with US subsidiary Wellysis USA Inc. in Houston at JLABS@TMC. Secured pre-IPO investment in January 2026. Partners include Medicalgorithmics, AccurKardia and HeartcoR Solutions. S-Patch holds FDA, MFDS and CE clearances.
