1. Technology overview
Secaro is the 2025 rebrand of Manufacture 2030, a supply chain decarbonisation software service launched in 2018 by Oxford-based 2degrees Limited. Its mission is to turn complex supply chain data into trusted intelligence so buyers can cut upstream Scope 3 emissions, which mostly sit in suppliers' factories. In July 2026 it was acquired by ASUENE, an Asian AI sustainability company, and continues to operate as Secaro.
The platform follows four steps: collate supply chain and operations data, connect buyers and suppliers in one data network, analyse environmental data into benchmarks and reduction opportunities, and act through supplier campaigns and guided actions. Modules cover upstream Scope 3 primary data, facility-level reporting for suppliers, cradle-to-gate product carbon footprints, the Activate programme for pharmaceutical API supply chains and a Clean Heat programme with ERM. More than 8,000 businesses in over 90 countries use it, including suppliers to Toyota, Honda, GM, GSK, AstraZeneca and Kingfisher.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Supply chain data: collects upstream Scope 3 primary data from suppliers.
- Operations reporting: facility-level environmental reporting and action tracking for suppliers.
- Product footprints: cradle-to-gate product carbon footprints.
- Analytics: benchmarks and prioritised reduction opportunities across the supplier base.
- Supplier campaigns: engagement campaigns and capability building at scale.
- Sector programmes: Activate for pharmaceutical API supply chains and Clean Heat with ERM.
3. Potential application
A Vietnamese auto parts supplier to Toyota or Honda can report facility emissions and reduction actions to its customers through one network. A multinational with factories in Vietnam can run a supplier engagement campaign to collect primary Scope 3 data. A chemical or pharmaceutical ingredient maker can join a sector programme on cleaner process heat.
4. Benefits
Buyers replace spend-based Scope 3 estimates with primary data from their suppliers and see which suppliers and actions matter most. Suppliers report once to a shared network rather than answering each customer separately, and get guided reduction actions; the platform counts over 45 million completed actions. A free two-minute Clean Heat Readiness Tool helps manufacturers assess heat decarbonisation gaps.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Automotive, pharmaceutical and retail groups are setting supplier decarbonisation targets and asking factories for primary emissions data and reduction plans. With ASUENE's ownership linking the network to Japan and Asia, Vietnamese suppliers of Japanese and Western automakers and consumer brands are likely to see more such data requests.
6. Other information
Operated by 2degrees Limited, Oxford, UK, trading as Secaro; Manufacture 2030 launched in 2018 and rebranded to Secaro in 2025. Raised a 5 million pound Series A in 2023 from Maven VCTs and Amati AIM VCT, was a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer in 2022, and was acquired by Japan-based ASUENE in July 2026 while keeping its brand.
