1. Technology overview
Thingspire Co., Ltd. is a Seoul-based decarbonisation company founded in 2014 that has worked with Korean manufacturers on energy efficiency and now offers an integrated carbon management platform called Carbonscope. It helps industrial companies, industrial complexes and local governments measure emissions and cut energy use as CBAM and disclosure rules put pressure on Korean exporters and SMEs.
The platform calculates and monitors Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions for companies and public bodies, supported by an emission factor API with about 103,000 factors focused on Asia-Pacific and a unified classification across countries. A cloud energy module uses IoT and digital twins, and an AI service forecasts energy consumption and solar generation and supports predictive maintenance. CarbonNote has been deployed for more than 630 factories across nine industrial complexes linked to HD Hyundai Electric.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- GHG accounting: calculates and monitors Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions for companies and local governments.
- Emission factor API: about 103,000 factors with Asia-Pacific focus and real-time lookups.
- Energy management SaaS: IoT and digital twin monitoring of utilities without downtime.
- Carbon-reduction AI: MLOps forecasting of energy demand and solar output with predictive maintenance.
- Industrial complex rollout: CarbonNote deployment for hundreds of SME factories in one programme.
- ESG disclosure support: GRI-certified Carbonscope with disclosure and regulation management.
3. Potential application
A Korean-invested electronics or textile factory in Vietnam can report Scope 1 to 3 emissions in the format used by its parent company. An industrial park operator can roll out carbon accounting to tenant SMEs as one programme. A plant with rooftop solar and steam systems can use AI forecasting and predictive maintenance to cut energy costs.
4. Benefits
Carbon accounting and energy optimisation sit in one platform, so emission data leads directly to savings measures. The company reports steam trap predictive maintenance cutting energy costs by more than 5% and day-ahead solar forecasts above 92% accuracy. Its cloud energy management is stated to need about 30% of the cost and 20% of the time of traditional system integration projects, without equipment downtime.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Korean manufacturers and their suppliers face CBAM and new Korean sustainability disclosure standards, while many Korean groups run large factories in Vietnam. Industrial parks in Vietnam are also moving toward eco-industrial park models that require shared energy and emissions data.
