Tower Python-native Data Platform

Tower is a Berlin-based data infrastructure company, founded by former Snowflake engineers Serhii Sokolenko (CEO) and Brad Heller (CTO). It targets data engineers who need to run Python pipelines, dbt models and AI agents without managing infrastructure, and raised about 5.5 million euros across pre-seed and seed rounds in March 2026.

The platform combines a Python-native flow orchestrator, serverless or self-hosted compute, and an Apache Iceberg lakehouse with a managed or bring-your-own REST catalog. Control-plane APIs support multi-tenant use, and an MCP server lets AI coding assistants deploy apps. The company announced in August 2026 that it is joining MotherDuck.

Removes the need to operate orchestration and compute infrastructure for Python data work. Self-hosted runners keep sensitive data in the customer environment. A free Personal plan is available for evaluation, and teams can start at a listed monthly price.

Teams want AI-generated code and agents to run securely on governed data, which raises demand for sandboxed execution and open table formats such as Iceberg. Vietnamese data teams building Python and dbt pipelines on cloud storage face the same operational overhead.

Berlin-based; about 5.5 million euros (6.4 million USD) pre-seed and seed in March 2026 with DIG Ventures, Speedinvest and others. In August 2026 Tower announced it is becoming part of MotherDuck; paying customers are to transition to MotherDuck Flights, so the Tower brand may be phased out.
