UnaConnect IoT Data Platform and Sigfox 0G

UnaBiz is a Singapore-based massive IoT data service provider and integrator with offices in Taiwan, Japan, France and Spain. It started by rolling out the Sigfox network in Singapore in 2017 and in April 2022 became the owner of Sigfox SA, the low-power wide-area 0G technology used to connect sensors at very low cost.

UnaConnect is its cloud middleware for onboarding, managing and updating large mixed fleets of devices. It decodes payloads by device type and firmware, routes data in JSON to customer systems through connectors such as AWS IoT, MQTT, HTTPS and Splunk, and supports firmware updates over the air. It works across Sigfox, LoRa, LTE-M, NB-IoT, Bluetooth, WiFi and satellite. UnaBiz also designs and manufactures trackers and sensors for utilities metering, cold chain, returnable assets and facilities management, serving about 1,500 B2B customers.

A Vietnamese logistics or beverage company can track pallets, crates and roller cages between depots and retailers. A gas or water utility can read meters remotely and detect leaks. A cold chain operator can monitor temperature of shipments and storage rooms and route alerts to its ERP.

One platform manages mixed device fleets across many network types, so customers avoid building separate pipelines per technology. Payload decoding by device and firmware version means downstream systems need no changes when devices are updated. The 0G network targets very low-cost tracking of assets such as pallets and roller cages. The company reports more than 14 million devices connected.

Utilities, logistics operators and facility managers are moving from manual readings and periodic audits to continuous sensor data, but large deployments are limited by device and connectivity costs. Low-power networks and hybrid connectivity reduce the cost per tracked asset, which matters for Southeast Asian supply chains with thin margins and many returnable assets.

UnaBiz has offices in Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, France and Spain. It raised a 10 million USD Series A (2018), a Series B of more than 50 million USD led by SPARX (2021-2022) and a 25 million USD pre-Series C from KDDI and KYOCERA (August 2024). It became owner of Sigfox SA in April 2022 and holds ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 (UnaConnect) certification.
