1. Technology overview
UnionTech is a Shanghai based industrial 3D printer manufacturer established in 2000 and listed on China's NEEQ, with subsidiaries in Stuttgart, Germany and Austin, USA. It developed its first proprietary stereolithography (SLA) system in 2002 and was named a national manufacturing single champion enterprise by China's MIIT in 2025. The company helps manufacturers produce large, accurate resin parts for prototyping, casting patterns and moulds faster than machining.
The RSPro series of SLA printers ranges up to 2,100 mm class machines; the new RSPro800 X uses four synchronised solid-state Nd:YVO4 lasers over an 800 x 800 x 550 mm build volume. Machines run on the RSCON control system, PolydevsPro and BPC part preparation software and UT ONE for remote monitoring of multiple printers. UnionTech also offers DLP, LCD and SLM metal systems, application-specific SLA for footwear and tyre moulds, and resins developed with partners such as BASF and Evonik.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Four-laser SLA: RSPro800 X synchronises four Nd:YVO4 lasers over an 800 x 800 x 550 mm build volume.
- Large-format range: RSPro models scale up to 2,100 mm class machines for full-size prototypes and patterns.
- Process software: RSCON control, PolydevsPro and BPC handle part preparation and build parameters.
- Fleet monitoring: UT ONE supports batch management of multiple printers and data insights.
- Application systems: dedicated SLA lines for footwear moulds, tyre moulds (RA900) and dental work.
- Materials and metal: in-house and partner resins plus the MUEES430 PRO SLM metal printer.
3. Potential application
Footwear factories in Vietnam can print sole mould masters and prototypes with footwear SLA systems to speed up new model sampling. Automotive and motorbike part suppliers can produce full-size prototypes and investment casting patterns on large RSPro machines. Tyre makers can print tread pattern inserts for tyre moulds with the RA900.
4. Benefits
UnionTech states that the RSPro800 X prints up to 60% faster than its previous system through four-laser synchronised printing, with dimensional accuracy of plus or minus 0.1 mm for parts under 100 mm. Large replaceable resin vats of up to 560 kg support long unattended builds and quick material changes. The company reports more than 35,000 customers worldwide and over 245 authorised patents and standards, giving buyers a mature supplier base for parts and service.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Industrial resin 3D printing is shifting from small prototypes to large-format, multi-laser production of casting patterns, tooling and end-use parts, with Chinese makers competing on cost per part. Southeast Asia's footwear, automotive parts and tyre industries, many of them operating in Vietnam, increasingly use SLA for fast mould and pattern making as product cycles shorten.
6. Other information
Established in 2000 in Shanghai; converted to a joint stock company in 2015 and listed on the NEEQ in 2016 (stock code 836987). Subsidiaries UnionTech of Europe (Stuttgart) and UnionTech of North America (Austin, Texas). Named an MIIT manufacturing single champion enterprise in 2025; photopolymer 3D printing brand for the 47th WorldSkills Additive Manufacturing project. RSPro800 X is CE-MD certified by TÜV SÜD.
