1. Technology overview
Vikohasan Joint Stock Company was founded in 2018 in Vietnam to turn waste PET plastic into polyester staple fibre, drawing on the tradition of fibre-making craft villages such as Trat Cau. It is headquartered at Dong Van IV Industrial Park, Ninh Binh province, and aims to become a leading Vietnamese exporter of recycled polyester fibre in the circular economy.
The company collects and buys scrap plastic through branches in Ninh Binh, Dong Nai, Bac Ninh, Nghe An and Binh Duong, then recycles, melts and spins it into hollow conjugated, siliconised, slick and solid polyester staple fibres in grades such as 3D64HCS, 7D64HS and 15D64HC. Two factories covering more than 10 hectares recycle 200 to 250 tonnes per day. Customers are bedding, pillow, quilt, furniture filling and insulation manufacturers in Vietnam and export markets.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Hollow conjugated fibre: 3D and 2D hollow polyester fibres for pillows, quilts and toppers.
- Siliconised and slick grades: oiled fibres for soft hand feel and smooth filling.
- Solid and thermal fibres: additional product lines alongside hollow fibres for filling and insulation needs.
- Domestic collection network: branches in five provinces collect and buy PET scrap.
- Large capacity: two factories recycle 200 to 250 tonnes of plastic per day.
- Export logistics: integrated recycling, spinning, quality control and container loading.
3. Potential application
Bedding and home textile exporters in Vietnam can switch pillow and quilt filling to recycled fibre for buyers that require recycled content. Furniture makers can use recycled fibre for sofa filling and cushions. Beverage and packaging companies with EPR obligations can partner with Vikohasan to route collected PET bottles into fibre.
4. Benefits
Buyers get recycled fibre that reduces dependence on virgin polyester staple fibre and lowers raw material cost, according to the company. Output above 60,000 tonnes per year and more than 6,000 tonnes per month supports large, steady orders, with export loading of 10 to 15 containers per day in peak season. Controlled denier, loft, resilience and cleanliness help filling producers keep consistent product quality.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Brands and retailers in the US, Europe, Japan and Korea increasingly specify recycled content in bedding, home textiles and insulation. Vietnam's extended producer responsibility rules for packaging and plastics are creating structured PET collection, and recycled fibre made locally lets Vietnamese manufacturers meet recycled-content requirements with shorter supply chains.
6. Other information
Founded in 2018, headquartered at Lot CN02, Dong Van IV Industrial Park, Ninh Binh province, Vietnam. Two factories over 10 hectares, around 500 production staff, export share above 40% of output to Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, East Asia and Southeast Asia. Certificates shown include ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001 and GRS. Partnered with UNDP in 2026.
