Vilight Smart Lighting Control (Smartware)

Vilight Co., Ltd is a Ho Chi Minh City company founded in 2014, when it also registered the copyright of its SMARTWARE lighting control software. It designs, manufactures and installs smart urban lighting and architectural lighting, aiming to help Vietnamese cities monitor and operate public lighting remotely and cut maintenance effort.

The smart lighting system combines IDIM NEMA-standard LED controllers fitted to each luminaire, the ICENTER central controller in the lighting cabinet and the Smartware control software. Connectivity uses 3G, 4G or 5G with RF, Zigbee or LoRa links, giving control down to each light point. A GIS-based software module digitises infrastructure such as trees, lights and traffic information boards. Systems have been deployed for city lighting in Pleiku, where it is integrated with the city's IOC, as well as My Tho, Hong Ngu, Song Cau, Thu Thiem and AquaCity.

A provincial urban services company can retrofit LED streetlights with per-lamp control and monitor them from one centre. New urban areas and resorts can manage street, park and facade lighting together. A city IOC can display lighting status alongside traffic and environment data.

Operators supervise and control the whole lighting network remotely over the internet instead of patrolling streets. Control at the level of each light point allows targeted switching and fault localisation. Lighting data can be fed into a provincial or city IOC, as done in Pleiku. Because Vilight designs its own devices, systems can be adapted to each project.

Vietnamese provinces are replacing sodium streetlights with LED and are being asked to save electricity in public lighting. Many cities are building intelligent operations centres but lack lighting data that can be integrated, which creates demand for locally supported remote lighting control.
