1. Technology overview
Weintek is a Taiwanese HMI manufacturer founded in 1995, headquartered in Zhonghe with a plant in Tucheng, a US subsidiary set up in 2017 and a Korean subsidiary since 2007, selling through distributors worldwide including Malaysia since 2000. Its touch panels are common on machines in Asia, and its IIoT products help those machines share data with IT systems and be serviced remotely.
The cMT G Series gateways, cMT-G01X and the Wi-Fi model cMT-G02X, are compact DIN-rail devices that act as OPC UA and MQTT IIoT gateways and as Modbus TCP/IP gateways, translating data from PLCs on the machine. Weincloud adds EasyAccess 2.0, which uses peer-to-peer tunneling with TLS/SSL encryption to reach an HMI through firewalls in about 30 seconds, passes through to the PLC behind it for remote troubleshooting and project updates, and offers web monitoring and mobile alerts. Weincloud Dashboard provides data visualization. Users are machine builders and factory maintenance teams.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- cMT-G01X gateway: compact DIN-rail IIoT gateway with OPC UA and MQTT support.
- cMT-G02X gateway: the same OPC UA, MQTT and Modbus TCP/IP functions with built-in Wi-Fi.
- EasyAccess 2.0: peer-to-peer tunneling with TLS/SSL encryption for remote HMI access.
- PLC pass-through: remote troubleshooting and parameter changes on PLCs behind the HMI.
- Web monitoring and alerts: browser-based data viewing and real-time mobile notifications.
- Weincloud Dashboard: cloud data visualization for connected machines.
3. Potential application
A Vietnamese machine builder can let its engineers diagnose HMIs and PLCs at customer sites in other provinces through EasyAccess 2.0. A plastics or textile factory can add cMT-G gateways to older machines to send production counts to an MES over MQTT. A maintenance team can receive alarm notifications on phones during night shifts.
4. Benefits
Machine builders using Weintek HMIs can add OPC UA and MQTT data output with a small DIN-rail gateway instead of replacing controllers. EasyAccess 2.0 connects to an HMI in about 30 seconds without complex network setup, which Weintek says cuts downtime and on-site maintenance trips. PLC pass-through lets engineers adjust parameters remotely. Real-time mobile alerts help maintenance teams respond faster.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Asian machine builders are under pressure from customers to deliver connected machines that expose OPC UA or MQTT data and support remote service. Cybersecurity rules such as EN 18031 are raising requirements for connected HMIs and gateways. Vietnamese factories and machine makers that already use Taiwanese HMIs can add connectivity at low cost within a familiar ecosystem.
6. Other information
Weintek was founded in 1995 in Taiwan, moved to Zhonghe in 2000 and opened a new headquarters there in 2021, with the Tucheng plant established in 2013. It set up subsidiary KEV in Korea in 2007 and Weintek USA in 2017. Its HMIs gained EN 18031-1 certification in 2026, and it completed a full-line carbon footprint assessment.
