1. Technology overview
Zero-Error Systems (ZES) Pte. Ltd. is a Singapore semiconductor company focused on high-reliability power and data management for radiation-affected environments. Its main goal is to let satellite and space system builders use lower-cost commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) chips safely by protecting them from latch-up and data upsets.
Products include space rad-hard ICs such as the LDAP latch-up detector and protector, latching current limiters, point-of-load converters and TMR voter and EDAC ICs; radiation-tolerant MCU and FPGA system-on-modules; and a commercial DC/DC converter. For chip designers it licenses radiation-hardened-by-design (RHBD) digital cell libraries and offers design services. It also runs laser and heavy-ion diagnostic testing and advisory, and supplies parts as die, packaged ICs or licensed IP.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- LDAP: latch-up detector and protector IC for COTS chips in space.
- Power protection: latching current limiter, point-of-load and DC/DC converters.
- Data integrity: TMR voter IC, EDAC algorithm and voter module against bit flips.
- System-on-modules: radiation-tolerant MCU and FPGA modules.
- RHBD cell library IP: licensable radiation-hardened digital standard cells with design services.
- Radiation testing: laser and heavy-ion diagnostic tests with advisory.
3. Potential application
A Vietnamese small satellite programme can add LDAP protection to COTS processors on its onboard computer. A local chip design company can license RHBD cells to offer radiation-tolerant ASICs. A research institute can use heavy-ion and laser test services to qualify components before launch.
4. Benefits
Satellite builders can protect COTS components against single-event latch-up instead of buying costly fully rad-hard parts. Chip designers can license RHBD cell libraries to build their own radiation-tolerant ASICs. Laser and heavy-ion test services help qualify parts before launch. Flexible supply as die, packaged IC or IP fits different programme needs.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Small satellite constellations and new space programmes increasingly use COTS electronics to cut cost, which raises the need for latch-up protection and radiation-tolerant design. Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam, are developing their own small satellites and space electronics capability. Radiation effects also matter for automotive and high-altitude electronics.
6. Other information
Singapore private limited company. Spirit Electronics became its first US franchised distributor in October 2024, offering ZES products as die, packaged ICs or licensed IP. Awarded Best Space Electronics Manufacturing Company 2026 - Asia in March 2026.
