AX Solar Robot SPIDER, RIDER and WETSLIDER

AX Solar Robot is the solar panel cleaning brand of the AX group in France, which also owns AX System, a company that states it has designed and industrialised high-pressure cleaning installations for over 15 years. The brand positions its products as solar panel cleaning robots made in France, for rooftops, solar carports and ground-mounted or floating plants.

The range has three families: SPIDER, a 100 percent autonomous robot installed permanently on rooftops; RIDER, a radio-controlled robot that moves between rooftops, carports and floating plants; and WETSLIDER, for ground-mounted and floating plants. SPIDER carries its own solar panel and can be triggered by a rain sensor, on demand or by soiling sensors, with a winch for fall-safe operation. Accessories include WATERPACK, a lifting table and a reverse-osmosis unit.

The company states that untreated soiling can cost 5 to 10 percent of annual yield. A permanently installed robot cleans as often as needed without contractors or operators on the roof. Rain-sensor triggering allows cleaning without consuming water. Soiling sensors allow the gains from cleaning to be calculated.

Commercial and industrial rooftop solar is growing and operators look for cleaning that avoids sending staff onto roofs. Dusty industrial sites such as cement plants and flour mills are a stated target. Vietnam has a large installed base of industrial rooftop solar in factories and industrial parks, although the company does not state a Vietnam presence.
