Companion.energy Prism and Propel

Companion.energy is a software company founded in October 2022 and incorporated in Belgium, co-founded by Thomas Vyncke and Jonas Verstraeten. It provides an energy management platform for complex environments such as manufacturing, telecom and data centers, charging and logistics, and energy companies.

The modular platform has two parts. Prism models operational and financial energy data to show where to improve, and Propel turns forecasts into autonomous decisions that steer assets in real time. It needs no hardware and no per-meter pricing, and customers include Proximus, Smappee, Rozen Scheers and BEE.

Large energy users face volatile prices and growing on-site assets such as batteries, solar and chargers, which pushes demand for software that automates procurement and flexibility decisions. Vietnamese manufacturers and data center operators face rising electricity costs and the shift toward time-of-use tariffs.

Founded October 2022 and incorporated in Belgium; press describes it as Ghent-based. Raised a 7.8M euro seed round reported June 2026, led by Realyze Ventures and Pi Labs with Asterion Ventures and existing investors. Funding supports expansion into Germany and Spain per press.
