1. Technology overview
Infinecs Systems is a Malaysian semiconductor engineering company established at the end of 2016 and based in Penang. It helps chip and electronics companies turn silicon designs into production-ready products, covering the gap between chip design, embedded software and the final system.
Its design services span IC and SoC design, embedded software and system platform design, plus scalable SoC platforms for AI and data centre workloads and a turnkey product and IP development offering. It also develops its own high-voltage power management ICs designed and made in Malaysia, including low-dropout regulators, DC-DC step-up and step-down converters, gate drivers and analog switches, and launched an automotive power regulator chip in October 2026. Target markets are HPC and edge AI, storage and cloud, automotive, and smart vision and industrial.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- IC and SoC design: front-end to back-end chip design services.
- Embedded software: firmware and software development for silicon and systems.
- System platform design: boards and platforms that bring chips into products.
- AI and data centre SoC: scalable system-on-chip platforms for performance and integration.
- Power management ICs: LDOs, DC-DC converters, gate drivers and analog switches.
- Turnkey product and IP: full development of products and reusable IP.
3. Potential application
A Vietnamese EV or e-motorbike maker can evaluate locally designed automotive power regulators and gate drivers. An electronics company in Vietnam can outsource embedded software and system platform work around a new chip. A Vietnamese chip startup can partner on SoC design or turnkey IP development.
4. Benefits
Customers get one partner across chip design, embedded software and system platforms instead of coordinating several vendors. The team has worked on 7nm and 5nm nodes and served companies such as Intel, AMD, Microchip, Infineon and Qualcomm. Locally designed power management ICs give automotive and industrial makers an additional supply source. Engagements can be time-and-material or long-term turnkey projects.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Vehicle electrification and AI servers are increasing the number of power management chips per system, while supply chain diversification pushes buyers to qualify new regional suppliers. Malaysia's IC design park programme and Vietnam's semiconductor strategy both encourage local chip design and cross-border engineering partnerships in Southeast Asia.
6. Other information
Established at the end of 2016 in Penang, Malaysia; grew to more than 100 staff and expanded design teams to the US and India, with plans for Vietnam and the Philippines (MIDA, 2022). Bluechip is an investor; partners include Cadence, Synopsys, X-FAB, Rapidus and SilTerra. Member of the Malaysia Semiconductor IC Design Park.
