1. Technology overview
Innatera Nanosystems is a Dutch semiconductor company founded in 2018 as a spin-off from Delft University of Technology, headquartered in Rijswijk, the Netherlands. It was built to give small, battery-powered edge devices the ability to interpret sensor data locally, in real time, without the power budget or latency of sending that data to the cloud for cloud-based AI processing.
The company’s flagship product is Pulsar, described as a mass-market neuromorphic microcontroller that uses a spiking-neural-network, analog-mixed-signal architecture to process sensor signals directly on-chip, programmed through its Talamo software development kit. Chips are sold to manufacturers of consumer electronics, wearables, industrial-monitoring equipment and smart-sensor modules that need always-on sensing at very low power.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
1. Pulsar neuromorphic microcontroller: spiking-neural-network chip processing sensor data locally at very low power.
2. Analog-mixed-signal architecture: combines analog and digital circuits to cut energy use versus conventional digital AI chips.
3. Talamo SDK: software toolkit for training and deploying spiking neural-network models onto Pulsar.
4. On-device sensor fusion: processes audio, motion and other sensor streams without sending raw data to the cloud.
5. Always-on operation: designed for continuous sensing in battery-powered devices without frequent recharging.
6. Target applications: consumer electronics, wearables, industrial monitoring and smart-sensor modules.
One platform connecting startups, corporations, research institutions, regions and investors
