Silvaco TCAD, EDA & Design IP

Silvaco Group is a semiconductor software and IP company founded in 1984 and listed on Nasdaq (SVCO). It helps chipmakers and designers simulate devices and processes, design analog and custom circuits and license IP, reducing costly fab experiments and design re-spins.

Its AI-Driven Manufacturing unit covers TCAD tools such as Victory Process, Victory Device, Victory Atomistic and Utmost IV, plus lithography, plasma and photonics simulation and FTCO, which uses AI surrogate models trained on physics data for fab technology co-optimisation. The AI-Driven Design unit provides SmartSpice circuit simulation, analog and custom IC layout and verification tools such as Expert, SmartDRC/LVS and Jivaro Pro, and design IP including Mixel MIPI PHYs, AMBA IP, standard cells and memory compilers. Markets include power devices, display, memory, automotive, photonics and AI/HPC.

A Vietnamese university or research institute can use TCAD in semiconductor device courses and research. A local power IC or sensor designer can use SmartSpice and custom layout tools for analog chips. A design centre can license MIPI or standard cell IP for camera and display SoCs.

Process and device simulation lets fabs and research labs test options virtually before running wafers. A single vendor supplies TCAD, analog design tools and IP, which suits power, display and specialty device makers. Mixel MIPI PHYs are silicon-proven in twelve process nodes at nine foundries. An academic programme used by more than 200 universities supports workforce training.

Power semiconductors, displays, photonics and advanced packaging all depend on accurate process and device modelling, and AI-assisted digital twins are reducing physical experiments. Vietnam is building semiconductor training programmes and specialty design capacity, and Silvaco appointed FPT Semiconductor as its exclusive representative and distributor in Vietnam.
