1. Technology overview
Telit Cinterion is an IoT hardware and connectivity provider formed on 1 January 2023 when Telit, founded in 1986 as the Italian engineering firm Telital, combined with the Cinterion cellular-module business that Thales had acquired from Siemens. The merged company is headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, and supplies modules, connectivity and edge software to manufacturers building connected products across automotive, industrial, healthcare and utility markets.
Its portfolio spans 5G, LTE and LPWA (LTE-M, NB-IoT) cellular modules, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GNSS positioning components, and NExT SIM and eSIM connectivity with a management platform. The deviceWISE platform adds edge computing, SCADA and HMI visualization plus cloud connectivity, and an Edge AI SDK lets selected 4G and 5G modules run machine-learning inference directly on the device.
